Love Nokia? Well, here’s one good news for you. Nokia’s design chief has confirmed via a local Finland magazine that they’re planning to launch a sexy tablet soon, and it looks like the operating system is Microsoft’s Windows 8.
One of the top Windows Phone makers, Nokia is reportedly set to compete against Apple’s iPad and Android tablet computers this year with their own rendition of “post PC” device, a tablet computer that will likely offer the new Windows 8 operating system of Microsoft.
“We are working on it,” Nokia’s Marko Ahtisaari reportedly told the magazine. “We continue to eye the tablet space with interest, but have made no specific announcements.”
Windows 8 is expected to hit the market later this year through laptops and tablet computers. Microsoft will showcase its new-found love “Metro UI” plus the option to use the traditional PC user interface with mouse support while the Metro Windows 8 interface will focus mainly on touch-based devices.
Aside from the tablet computer, Nokia is also set to offer more Windows Phone smartphones this year including the Nokia Lumia 900 that will go on sale beginning next month in United States.
