New iPad 3 overheating?

iPad 3 Overheating.

Last year, customers complain the iPhone 4S battery life. Now, new iPad 3 owners say their new device is overheating.

Arguably the highly publicized “problem” since the “iPhone 4S battery life” last year, the overheating of the new iPad or the iPad 3, customers have confirmed.

Customers experiencing iPad 3 overheating problems posted their experience/s in Apple’s Discussion boards. Surprisingly, almost all customers are saying that the problem could be related to the iPad 3's battery.

For starters, the iPad 3's internal battery is bigger than the iPad 2.

One customer shared, “I was at my local Apple Store today to ask some questions since I’m brand new to the iPad, and somehow while I was talking to a staff member, it came up that he iPad ‘gets hot.’ She acted as if this was completely normal, and said it had to do with the battery being big.”

Another customer added, “This is because the iPad 2 and the first iPad only has 25W battery while the new iPad as nearly 50W, that’s double the amount! I highly recommend getting a leather case(s) to help cool the iPad 3 down.

But aside from the overheating that could be related to the battery or the new dual-core A5X chip, one customer also added that her iPad 3 “gets hot AND the battery drains really fast,” she adds, “(the iPad 3's battery drains) faster than on the iPad 2, (even) without doing crazy things, i.e. not gaming or watching movies.”

Apple has not yet issued a statement regarding the iPad 3 overheating issues or the reported battery life.

The new iPad with the Retina screen, 5MP camera and with 4G LTE support, according to Apple, is the most successful iPad yet with 3 million sales in less than a week.
