iPhone 5 vs HTC One X a la Sprint?

Fresh from the rumor pond, HTC’s One X will reportedly join the Sprint network in June, colliding with the iPhone 5 release?

A new rumor is claiming that AT&T will not exclusively retail the new HTC One X, the Tegra 3 (international) Android smartphone with the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich, a new camera hardware and software and with the latest version of Sense user interface plus a high-definition screen.

According to a reposted BGR report, Sprint is on the verge of announcing its own One X, and the device might join the market on June 10. The rumor adds that Sprint will slap a new name on the One X — the HTC Jet.

Apparently, the rumor is pinpointing an exact release date, so it looks like the “source” of the rumor is confident enough to say that AT&T is not the exclusive carrier of the flagship HTC Android smartphone.

However, the release date of the One X with Sprint, if the date is accurate, is a bit odd because it might collide with the rumored release date of the iPhone 5, the long-rumored Apple smartphone that will reportedly include a larger touchscreen, the new A5X chip with quad-core graphics, plus a new camera sensor.

Apple’s iPhone is a popular smartphone brand in United States, so we’re not sure if HTC can withstand the iPhone’s onslaught in mid-2012.

Plus, it is also highly possible that the next iPhone will include LTE or Long-Term Evolution (based on the specs of the new iPad), and it will obviously challenge the “power” of other Android devices with the new wireless technology that allows faster uploads and downloads.
